The family, long dedicated to viticulture, decided in 1998 to build a winery in the town of Galilea, nestled in the Ocón Valley (Central Rioja), to craft wines exclusively from their own vineyards. The wines of Nestares Eguizábal embody the unique character of their four estates, cultivated in a high-altitude region (between 520 and 650 meters) with extremely poor, clay-limestone and stony soils—conditions that give rise to wines with remarkable personality and distinct identity.
