Chulato is one of the most honest young wines that has been served for decades at bars across La Rioja and the Basque Country, has been the historic identity of Bodegas Abeica. With the arrival of the fifth generation, young Ricardo and David Fernández, the family winery in Ábalos now produces one of the most interesting collections of single-vineyard and varietal wines in the Rioja DOCa. Abeica also offers wine tourism, including visits to their vineyards and ancient wine presses in the Sonsierra region.
