Zugober was founded in 1987 on old vineyards nestled at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. Eduardo Gómez, a winemaker and winegrower from Seville, and Maribel Bernardo, originally from Lapuebla, met while studying Oenology in Madrid and decided to invest in distinctive vineyards to establish Bodegas Zugober. Today, with the incorporation of the second generation, the family winery in Lapuebla produces two wine ranges: a more “classic” yet contemporary style, and a collection of estate and single-vineyard wines that express with purity the landscape where they are produced.
