Founded in 1988 in Cordovín, the birthplace of traditional Rioja clarete, this family-run project is now led by César (father) and Iván (son). In 2015, they opened a new winery in Alesanco to embrace the growing wave of wine tourism in the Alto Najerilla region, at the heart of the Route of the Monasteries and the Spanish Language. They produce traditional young wines—red, white, and clarete—under the César del Río label, along with a selection of wines from carefully chosen vineyards and harvests under the Yursum brand.
